Unga, capital of Unga Island grew into a large town know for processing otter furs.
It was going great until they ran out of otters. But they were then able to diverse as they found gold. Once again the town thrived until they ran out of gold. But all was well as they found they could process cod fish and there were plenty of cod in the sea.
Unfortunately a major earthquake in 1964 totally destroyed their harbour. This was the last straw and everyone just left, now it is a ghost town.
The bay next to the old town is full of birds including Puffins
