14 July, Day 29, Dutch Harbour Unalaska

Ship arrives at 8am so it is good morning Dutch Harbour.

If you have watched the TV Series "Deadliest Catch" about the big king crab fishermen you will have seen this place as their home.

No we haven't seen it either, but have seen it advertised!

It is the biggest fishing port in the United states.

Dutch Harbor is a harbor on Amaknak Island in Unalaska, Alaska. It was the location of the Battle of Dutch Harbor in June 1942, and was one of the few sites in the United States to be subjected to aerial bombardment by a foreign power during World War II.

So town is full of World War II museums and fishing stores.

2000 residents and about the same number of Eagles that we could see.

We docked 20 minutes from town so Kamala Harris organised a big yellow school bus to get us around in.

What they did have was a very impressive Safeway with a great chocolate section.

Back to the ship and just lounged around for a while.

And we have decided not to drink after sunset tonight.
